Rangpur Polytechnic Institute is one of the oldest institutes in Bangladesh established in British period 1882. The nickname of the institute is RPI.
It was established to develop skilled manpower in Bangladesh. At the time of establishment the name of the institute was Baily Gobindo Technical School. At present there are 768 students in this institute studying is various departments. It is a government polytechnic institute and controlled by Board of Technical Education.
Departments and Subjects
At present there are seven departments in this institute. The departments of this institute are civil, computer, electrical, mechanical, electronics, electro medical, power technology and non tech subjects. The courses are taught by very qualified teachers who are willing to provide the best knowledge to the students.
Facilities Available for the Students
The institute has many labs which contain a lot of advanced technological machines. The lab activities are conducted by higher graduates, stuffs and expert teachers. The library of the institute is rich in technological books and also the sitting arrangement of the library is perfect for studying. It has hostel facility for both the male and female students.
Admission Procedure and Eligibility
The admission test is taken by Directorate of Technical Education. The students are admitted in this institute according to the merit list in the admission test. The students in the waiting list are called if any seat remains empty.
The students have to give admission test on Math, English, Bangla and General Science. The students have to bring original registration card and admit card in the examination hall.
The students who passed SSC or equivalent examination with GPA 3.00 or more can apply for the admission test. GPA in mathematics must not be below 3.00. Eligible candidates have to apply through the website of technical education board.
