The college was established by Mr. Reboti Romon Datta in the village of Kanungopara of Boaklhali Upazila of Chittagong. It has a huge area of 19.21 acres of land. The college started its operation in the year 1939. Since then the college has been playing a very important role in the education sector of Chittagong District. It is one of the oldest colleges in Chittagong. Because of sufficient capacity and quality of education, the ministry of education has given the college the opportunity to start graduation level education in the college. The first subject to include for providing graduation level education in Economics.

Admission

The college published a circular after the publication of the Board result of Secondary Certificate or SSC examination. The requirements and eligibility criterion are articulated in the circular. The students having the required qualifications are allowed to apply and get admitted to the college. As the college is affiliated with National University to provide graduate level education the college has to follow the rules and regulations determined by NU. The college admits the students in graduation level according to their GPA in HSC exam result.

For the Higher Secondary Level education the college follows the rules and regulations determined by the Chittagong Education Board. The college provides education in Business Studies, Science, and Humanity majors. The college has a large pool of teachers to provide the best education to the students.

It has a very big field in front of the main building where the students can play outdoor games.
