Bangladesh Medical College at Shankar in Dhaka

Bangladesh Medical College's short name is BMC.  It is the first private medical college in Bangladesh. The first batch began on 1 July 1987.

About Bangladesh Medical College

It started functioning on 24 April 1986 and got affiliation from DU in 1988. The College has a recent Accident and Emergency Department. Class Hours start from 7.30 AM to 2.30 PM with an interval between 10.30 AM and 11 AM. For clinical students, there are two hours of evening classes in the Hospital. The college campus is at Dhanmondi in Dhaka. The College is attached to the hospital. It is also associated with BMSRI and recognized by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council since 1986. It is also recognized by WHO.

Every academic year, the college offers 1st year MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) course for admission. It is five years of study and one year internee. The College follows the curriculum approved by the Dhaka University and Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council. The student can download admission from their official website. Admission starts in December each year.
