Fakir Lalon Shah
Lalon (ফকির লালন সাঁই) is Bengali Baul saint. Lalon Shah was a songwriter, social reformer, and thinker. He is most popular as Lalon Shah or Lalon Fakir. He wrote many songs, and these songs are known as
Lalon Geeti. Fakir Lalon was born in 1774 and died on 17 October 1890 in Kushtia district, Bangladesh. He is known as the
Baul Samrat.
Rabindra Sangeet also got inspiration from his music and philosophy. His music is famous like
Nazrul Sangeet, folk music, Lok Geeti.

Fakir Lalon Shah Mazar
The Mazar accommodates the grave of the Fakir Lalon Shah. During mid-March and October, the Mazar becomes crowded by the followers of Lalon. They flock here and sing songs throughout the day. People from all over the world come here to enjoy the Baul music. Every year a 5-day musical event is held in the shrine. The event attracts thousands of pilgrims and vendors of marijuana. People gather here to commemorate the birthday of the saint during the march. In October, they gather here to commemorate his death. The site is crucial in the contest of Bengali culture and literature. The Baul music has certainly added to the diversity of the Bengali songs.
