Hence the establishment of such a university was call of time. With the increasing need of knowledgeable human resource in Bangladesh, the university was established in the year 1999 by BGMEA. In the year 2001, it got affiliation with National University of Bangladesh to provide its education. The institute has collaborated with many international bodies including UNIDO, EU, GTZ, and SEDF. They have been working in collaboration to improve the RMG sector of Bangladesh.

Admission

• The candidates who want to apply for admission in B.sc level must have minimum GPA 2.5 in both SSC and HSC examination. For admission Science Background is Preferable.

• The O level and A Level students must have completed consecutively 5 subjects and 2 subjects with minimum point B grade.

• Break of more than two years between studies is not acceptable. The aspiring candidate must collect the admission form from the admission office paying Tk. 700 and submit the duly filled up admission form with all the mentioned documents.

Vision and Mission

The mission of the institute is to build up and maintain a state of art institute for training, research and development.

The institute provides graduate, undergraduate, diploma and various short courses to the students. The undergraduate program includes B.sc in AMT (Apparel Manufacturing), FDT (Fashion Design), KMT (Knitwear Manufacturing), TE (Textile Engineering), TM (Textile Management), BBA. The major programs of the institute include B.sc and MBA program. The MBA program is held in the evening in Apparel Merchandising. The MBA, BBA, and B.sc programs of the institute are monitored and governed by the Institute and National University.

Facilities

The institute has about 50000 square feet area with its own campus. The campus has classrooms, laboratory, library, auditorium, faculty rooms, student’s common rooms, and office rooms. It has computer lab, CAD laboratory, Knit, Sewing, Textile, Pattern lab and Product development lab. The institute has a huge library with about 4000 books and journals. The campus has very fast internet facility for the students and its faculties. The labs of the institute are well equipped with modern machineries and equipments. The classrooms have multimedia facility with overhead projectors, Air condition and good sound system.
