Bangladesh University of Textiles locally famed as Textile University or BUTEX is the first and the only Textile Engineering public university in Bangladesh established in December 22nd 2010. There are around 1350 students enrolled among which 15% is female students. Till date around 2500 students have passed B.Sc in textile Technology from the Bangladesh Textile University. The present ranking of the university is 10183.

Admission Procedure and Eligibility
For Undergraduate courses Bangladesh University of Textiles has already published the notice.
Eligibility: Getting admitted to the Bangladesh University of Textiles is tough. Students with excellent academic background can only crack the admission test and the overall laps to enter the campus.
Candidates have to appear for a written admission test of 200 marks, which will also carry their performance in the SSC and HSC. Therefore, the GPA of their SSC and HSC marks will actually count and it is already mentioned in the notice published by the varsity. Students will be admitted on the basis of their merit for sure.Candidates must be Bangladeshi by birth or should have a legal immigration that proves that they are Bangladeshi citizens.

Foreign Student admission and Fee: Students from the SAARC countries have to pay lesser than that of the students of non SAARC countries. They should keep a tab on the University website for latest updates on foreign students and their admission charges.
Hostel and Accommodation
There are three residences that they call Halls for the students studying there in the university. One hall named after the Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is exclusively for the female students and rest of the two halls are for the boys studying there at Bangladesh University of Textiles.

Scholarships: Students must keep a tab on the official website of the Bangladesh University of Textiles for the latest scholarship updates from the varsity. Besides they can also get scholarship or stipend from the Ministry of Education, Bangladesh, UGC and different other organizations that fund meritorious candidates.
