History of Hazrat Shahjalal Mazar Sharif

Shahajalal was born in 1341 AD in Yemen. He was one of the famous Sufis in the Indian Subcontinent. The full name of the famous saint is Jalal Kuniat Mujdarat. He came to the region to preach Islam when he was 32 years old. He had many followers at that time, and his followers also spread out in various parts of the subcontinent to preach Islam. You will find separate prayer rooms for both male and female visitors. The site has a majestic main gate. The main entrance is called the Dargah Gate. The Mazar is a living place for many pigeons. People who come here do not forget to feed them. When you enter the Mazar, you will find a very ancient mosque on your left-hand side. The mosque is about 1400 years old. How to Get to the Spot

The Mazar is about 238 kilometers away from Dhaka. It may take about 5 hours to reach the place through Sylhet Highway. From the main city of Sylhet, the spot is about 1 kilometer away from the Sylhet central town, and it may require 10 to 12 minutes to reach there.
If you take a bus from Dhaka, you will have to get down to Kadamtoli bus station in Sylhet. From the bus station, you will find all kinds of vehicles to reach the spot.
