Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank is a state-owned bank with the regional approach to providing attention to the agriculture sector of Bangladesh. The focus of the bank is in the agricultural development of Rajshahi and Rangpur division as the regions are less advanced that the other divisions. The bank has authorized capital of TK 7500 million and paid up capital of 5700 million TK. The bank has the reserve of TK 208.5 million until June 2014.

The bank has 376 branches in Bangladesh to provide financial services to the impoverished farmers to improve their living standard. Dedicated employees conduct the branches. The bank’s head office is located in Dhaka. The bank provides current, short notice and fixed deposit accounts along with various savings schemes. The most attractive savings include Sanchay Scheme (RSS), Krishok Sanchay Scheme (KSS), RAKUB daily profit and monthly profit Schemes, etc. The bank’s credit programs include SME, Revolving Crop Credit Program, Govt. Primary school teacher credit program and Fish Polly Credit Program etc. The bank also has poverty reduction programs such as Zero Poverty Loan Scheme, RAKUB Self-help Credit Program, Swanirvar, and Semi-intensive Black Bengal Goat Rearing Program, etc.

Philanthropic and Social Welfare Services

As per the guideline of Bangladesh Bank, the bank runs various CSR activities including distribution of wheelchairs among wounded freedom fighters, financial help to poor people of the society, allocation of warm clothes in winter and development of the education sector through various scholarships, etc.
